Statement
It is my personal
mission to positively impact and influence the
lives of as many people as possible through my
example, training programs, speaking

As a sales trainer, Marshall worked for an independent yellow pages publisher, traveling throughout various Ontario and U.S. locations. Hiring a team of 15 to 20 individuals, he trained them over a seven-week period using a combination of classroom training and field coaching. Through sharing his passion for sales, Marshall was able to transfer his knowledge and enthusiasm to his associates and help them on the road to success.
For four years between 1999 and 2003, Marshall was an instructor for BIDS, a division of Durham College. He facilitated the Skills For Sales Success course, which was created by the Canadian Professional Sales Association.
In early 2001 he founded
SMP Strategies, home of
Elite Training Systems.

Marshall believes that a positive winning attitude is the key to sales success, above all things. He maintains his attitude by constantly staying plugged into the “right atmosphere”. Marshall builds on his knowledge daily, by reading books, listening to motivational tapes and attending business seminars. As a Sales Professional, he knows it is his responsibility to have excellent people skills, problem-solving abilities, product knowledge and duplicate the habits of other successful individuals.

Marshall's professional background includes six years in the Office Equipment Industry, selling Canon & Ricoh products, six years in the yellow pages advertising business, four with Bell Canada and two with an Independent Publisher and two years with Productivity Improvement Center, a Division of Durham College where he marketed Training & Consulting services by phone. Marshall is the President, of SMP Strategies, a company that specializes in Corporate Sales, Sales Management,
and Leadership Performance related training.
Marshall
prides himself on the extensive list
of books he has read, on subjects such
as sales, psychology, leadership,
relationships, attitude, finance,
business, executive management,
training, interviewing and many
others. Marshall is a graduate
of Georgian College in Barrie, where
he studied Electronics. He also
completed an Ontario Management
Development Certification Program at
Mohawk College in Hamilton. He
has attended many Sales related
seminars and courses over the years.
They include, Professional Selling
Skills, Account Development
Strategies, Interactive Listening
Skills, Multi-Media Training,
Consultative Selling Skills, and
Consultative Selling Skills Phase II.

Marshall resides in Cambridge, Ontario. From March of 2003 to March of 2006 he
was a member of Toastmasters International, an organization dedicated to helping its members learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking more effectively. In 2003-2004 he served as the V.P. of P.R
for
Grand River Toastmasters and received the Highest Honor from his club, The Toastmaster of the Year Award and in 2004–2005 was elected President. In December of 2004 Marshall earned the A.T.M.B. (Advance Toastmaster Bronze) designation with the completion of his twentieth speech
and in November 2005 he earned his
A.T.M.S. (Advance Toastmaster Silver)
with the completion of his thirtieth
speech.
